Position: Director of Quality
Location: Foothill Ranch, CA - Onsite Required
Position Description:
DZYNE Technologies is building a highly skilled team that thrives in the design, development, test and manufacturing of intelligent, autonomous vehicles. The candidate will work in a vehicle development and manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing internal and external processes, communications, and policies on behalf of our organization. Their goal is to ensure that every product or service we provide meets a certain set of standards that they determine based on customer expectations. The Director of Quality develops documentation detailing company standards which employees are expected to adhere to. This person must have a strong understanding of aircraft fabrication and the quality systems required to prevent the occurrence of defects. The Director of Quality serves as the SME (subject matter expert) in Quality and will be the "go-to" person for questions about Quality, Quality Measures, and "Best in Industry" specifications.
Required Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Build primary QMS programs, such as Internal Audit, Calibration, NCR/CAR, Training, and Risk Management programs
  • Build and coordinate tasks within quality and other manufacturing supporting teams for daily tasks of the QMS, such as NCR and DCR workflow administration
  • Build QMS performance indicators and coordinate correction and improvement efforts on significant processes of the operation
  • Support manufacturing and engineering processes with necessary QMS tools for manufacturing resolutions
  • Review products, processes, and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
  • Identify, document, and resolve production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and pursue corrective action as required.
  • Perform a proactive leadership role that drives the development of significant processes
  • Uphold quality expectations as defined by top management
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
  • Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
  • Create and implement changes to improve current processes and reduce costs
  • Train production line staff in proper production practices and basic quality assessment
  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Evaluate failures, identify root cause and responsibility along with initiating corrective action.
  • Successful experience in managing AS9100D/ ISO9001 certification audits.
  • Maintains quality assurance objectives and metrics.
  • Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site managers
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Desired background in aerospace avionics, flight systems, and composite structures.
  • Experience in maintaining paperless QMS / ERP systems, and their interdependencies is a must.
  • Proficient with computers and have the ability to use MS Office.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma), PFMEA, and Control Plans
  • Ability to motivate employees to facilitate the desired productivity levels.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or another related field
  • 5 years' quality management experience
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of calibration and ability to read blueprints
  • Impeccable communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Clearance Level Required: USCitizenship Required, Security Clearance Not Required
Travel: Maybe up to 10% travel for this position.

  • Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, and occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work
Salary: $132k - $180k
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
